Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar will go head-to-head with their films Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan respectively. Their face-off will be one of the biggest blockbusters of recent times. The trade has high hopes for both films. As the release date is near, both movies are doing their best to get the best shows on maximum screens. However, the early trend suggests that Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan scores ahead of Aamir’s film on screens and showtimes.
Trading expert Sumit Kadel shared his report on bookings from a multiplex chain in Kolkata, stating that Akshay’s film has 12 more shows than Aamir Khan. He wrote: “Pre-booking of #RakshaBandhan & #LaalSinghChaddha starts in Kolkata. Counting shows on Inox multiplexes RB – 76 LSC – 64.”
The reason Kumar won the race is because of the film’s running time. Raksha Bandhan lasts 2 hours while Laal Singh Chaddha lasts 2.45 hours. So the short runtime has played in Kumar’s favor. Sumit further added: “A shorter duration does the trick for #RakshaBandhan.. Let’s see what the final show count would be in India when the full march begins.”

However, when it comes to tickets, LSC outranks Raksha Bandhan. Himesh, an entertainment journalist, has shared the initial number of tickets for both films. He tweeted: “#RakshaBandhan has sold approximately 2300 tickets at the national chains for the extended opening weekend.”

Kumar’s human drama Raksha Bandhan is directed by the famous filmmaker Aanand L Rai and the trailer has a good click with the masses. While the trailer of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, an official adaptation of Forrest Gump, received mixed reception from the masses. Both films will hit theaters on August 11.
