No one was injured when a small plane made an emergency landing in Libertyville Friday night after an engine failure, the Libertyville Fire Department said.
The plane landed on South Milwaukee Avenue around 10:15 p.m. by a Trader Joe’s in Libertyville, the fire department said.
“It’s not every day you see a plane landing on Milwaukee Ave,” the fire department said in a Facebook post.
The fire brigade arrived on the scene. The pilot was not injured.
“Looks like a landing from a textbook, given the circumstances,” said the fire service.
The Libertyville Police Department also said on Facebook: “This may have been a first for us last night. We’re glad everyone is safe.”
