Amazon on Thursday announced a tool to help software developers write code, the latest such effort from the tech industry.
The service, called Amazon CodeWhisperer, suggests how to program and also analyzes security and bias issues in web developers’ projects, Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of Amazon’s cloud division, said at a conference. company in Las Vegas.
Amazon’s new CodeWhisperer is a machine learning (ML) based service. It claims to help improve developer productivity by generating code recommendations. According to information provided by AWS, these recommendations will be based on natural language developer feedback and their code in the integrated development environment (IDE).
CodeWhisperer claims to support all the necessities of a developer when writing code, which includes several popular programming languages, frameworks, software libraries, and cloud services. The algorithm selects the order by the user and chooses the best cloud service and public libraries suitable for the specified task. It then recommends a code snippet directly into the source code editor.
Moreover, developers can also protect their codes by using CodeWhisperer to detect vulnerabilities in their projects and build applications responsibly.
The company also announced that support for the AWS Lambda console is currently underway and should be ready very soon.
