A notorious burglar, Ajibola Lateef, was apprehended by staff from Osun’s Western Security Network, Amotekun Osun, on Monday in Asamu, in the Ola-Oluwa local government of Osun State.
Information made available to DAILY POST at the time of the arrest by Amotekun staff revealed that Lateef was terrorizing Asamu and Telemu, two local government towns, with charms and other dangerous weapons.
He encountered his waterloo when one of the residents of Asamu Town contacted the security team as he was about to commit another evil act.
The security team swung into action, arrested him as he attempted to sneak into the residents’ house, and quickly handed him over to Nigerian Police personnel, Ola-Oluwa Division.
When contacted, the field commander of Osun Amotekun’s corps, Amitolu Shittu, confirmed the arrest, adding that during questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime.
Amitolu also revealed that the suspects were turned over to the Ola-Oluwa Police Division which is investigating the crime.
According to him, “he was arrested by Amotekun agents after a distress call was made by residents of the city.”
Amitolu explained that he confessed to terrorizing the two cities armed with charms and dangerous weapons.
Upon investigation, it was learned that the case had not been transferred to the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo.
