Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the Center’s decision to postpone / cancel council reviews this year due to the increase in cases of the novel coronavirus in the country.
In a tweet, Party supremo Aam Aadmi (AAP) said: “I am glad the exams have been canceled / postponed. It is a great relief for thousands of students and their parents.”
The Central Council for Secondary Education (CBSE) canceled class 10 exams on Wednesday and postponed class 12 exams due to the surge in COVID-19 cases.
“Jury exams for class 10 are canceled. The result will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion developed by the board of directors, ”said an official from the Ministry of Education (MoE).
“Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks will have the opportunity to take the exams when the situation is right.
“Class 12 exams have been postponed and a review of the situation will be carried out after June 1. Students will be given at least 15 days notice before the exams are held,” added the official.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also added, “I call on the government to promote grade 12 students on the basis of internal assessment.”
“I am happy that the class 10 exams are canceled and the dates are postponed for the class 12 exams. Like the class 10 students, I call on the government to promote the class 12 students on the basis of a internal evaluation, “he told ANI news agency.
The decision on the CNSE board reviews was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The exams were to take place from May 4.
