United flyers now have the choice of an additional co-branded credit card with the launch this month of the New United Quest Card℠.

the New United Quest Card℠ has a $ 250 annual fee, but it offers a generous signup bonus for a limited time, as well as a range of travel credits and perks. The card can offer value to frequent United passengers, but the annual fee is steep if you’re not loyal to the airline.

Here is how the New United Quest Card℠ compares to other Chase co-branded United cards for consumers. (To note: United and Chase also offer small business credit cards, not included below.)

Sign-up bonus and ongoing rewards

For a limited time, new cardholders can earn up to 100,000 United miles:

  • Earn 80,000 miles if you spend $ 5,000 in the first three months.

  • Earn an additional 20,000 miles if you spend $ 10,000 in the first six months.

  • You can earn one or both of these bonuses.

TUSEN values Miles united to 1 cent each. This is a benchmark value, taken from real world data on hundreds of economic routes, not a maximized value. In other words, you should aim for reward exchanges that offer 1 cent or more in the value of your United miles.

  • 3 miles per dollar spent on United purchases.

  • 2 miles per dollar spent on all other travel (including other airlines, hotels, car rentals and more), meals (including takeout and delivery), and certain streaming services.

  • 1 mile per $ 1 on all other purchases.

Travel credits and other benefits

the New United Quest Card℠ offers several travel credits and mileage refunds that can help offset $ 250 annual fees and extend your miles:

  • An annual United purchase credit of $ 125.

  • Receive 5,000 miles in your MileagePlus account up to twice per anniversary year when you take a United or United Express flight booked with your miles.

Additional Travel Benefits provide more ways to save money and time when traveling, and they add a touch of luxury to the experience.

  • You and a travel companion on the same booking get two free checked baggage each, which represents a savings of $ 80 in baggage fees per person per flight.

  • Priority boarding for you and all travelers on the same reservation.

  • Get 25% off in-flight food, drink or Wi-Fi purchases on United-operated flights. You will receive the reduction in the form of a credit on the statement.

  • Earn up to 3000 Premier Qualifying Points per year, which is almost enough to earn Silver status.

  • Book a stay at one of the Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection properties and get extras like free WiFi, daily breakfast for two, meal and spa credits, room upgrades and more again (if applicable).

  • Get travel protections, including coverage for lost or delayed baggage, reimbursement for travel delays, interruptions or cancellations, rental car collision insurance, and travel accident insurance.
