According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, the victim was shot several times throughout his body, including the face. Authorities believe he is between 20 and 30 years old. He is currently undergoing surgery at a local hospital.
Small said CBS3 investigators found three casings of a “large caliber semi-automatic weapon”. Since the box is a few feet from the victim, investigators believe the shooter or shooters were standing nearby when you fired.
Neighbors came out of their homes at the time of the shooting and told detectives that they had all heard three shots. Many residents had private surveillance cameras that will aid the investigation. Authorities describe the area, which is near the two East Germantown Mount Airy sections, as generally calm.

“It’s a very quiet area, Mount Airy. We don’t normally get calls, especially calls for shootings, in this neighborhood, ”Inspector Small said. “It’s a very quiet and well-maintained neighborhood, so it’s unusual for something like this to happen in this particular neighborhood. So I hope that these cameras have recorded something that can help in this investigation. ”
Inspector Small said witnesses saw a car leave the scene, but that and a reason are still under investigation.
