El Salvador buys 150 more bitcoins, says president

El Salvador bought an additional 150 bitcoins, President Nayib Bukele announced, bringing the Central American country’s holdings of volatile cryptocurrency to 700 coins.

“We just bought a drop,” Bukele tweeted on Sunday evening, referring to a recent drop in bitcoin prices.

Earlier this month, El Salvador became the first country to adopt bitcoin as its official currency alongside the US dollar.
