Industry experts claim Channel Nine’s The Weakest Link is for BOMB – and claim Magda Szubanski “ isn’t the right host ” for the quiz.
Channel Nine’s new quiz, The Weakest Link, is expected to air in the coming weeks.
And ahead of its premiere, industry experts claimed the program was meant to bomb ratings.
Former Channel 10 executive Rob McKnight said on the Blackbox TV podcast that Magda Szubanski was not the right fit for the show.

Aaron Ryan, publisher of the broadcast guide for TV Blackbox, agreed and said Magda was not the right host for the show.

“ I don’t have a problem with Magda, she’s a great host, but she’s totally the wrong host for this show and the promos that Nine sends out for that bad stench, ” Ryan said.
“ It’s going to go wrong, which is a shame. The slot machine will take place after their 10pm show. This is total shit.
Television industry veteran Rod Morris added, “ Magda is an actress and there is a difference between an actress and a presenter. She’s not the right person for this. You need a presenter.

It comes after Nine delayed the premiere date of The Weakest Link.
The network originally scheduled the show to launch on Tuesday, May 4 at 8:50 p.m., but it is now slated to air later this month.
Nine will fill the vacant timeslot with two films: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle on May 4 and Central Intelligence the following week.
A spokesperson for Nine blamed the programming change on The Weakest Link – TV Tonight’s “ tight production schedule ” reporting that filming had only recently started.
“Due to the tight production schedule, Weakest Link will now launch at the end of May on Channel 9,” said the rep.
The Weakest Link was previously broadcast on Channel Seven from 2001 to 2002, and was hosted by the late Cornelia Frances.
Delayed: This comes after Nine delayed the premiere date of The Weakest Link. The network originally scheduled the show to launch on Tuesday, May 4, but it is now slated to air later this month.
