England coach Jofra Archer, who was knocked out with a hand injury in January, is back in the net and his team Rajasthan Royals (RR) are very happy with it. The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise posted a video on social media of Archer resuming training and captioned it: “What we love to see – Jofra back in the net.” The Instagram video shows Archer slowly going up to the bowling alley in an indoor facility. However, the counters are missing and a voice behind the camera says “rhythm”.
Several RR fans have expressed their joy to see Archer training. “Check back soon Jof, awaiting your return,” said one user. “RR needs Jofra,” read one of the posts.
Archer underwent surgery to remove shards of glass that had punctured his right middle finger while cleaning an aquarium in his home. Recently, the paceman posted a photo to his Instagram account in which he was seen sitting near the edge of a hill at Beachy Head Cliff on Britain’s south coast, with a bandage wrapped around his fingers.
His fans said at the time that they prayed for his speedy recovery. “Get well quickly, little brother,” wrote one of them.
Archer was named IPL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) last year. He had claimed 20 wickets at an economic rate of 6.56. There has been no update on whether Archer will play in the IPL this season.
The Rajasthan Royals will face the Delhi Capitals on April 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
