House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that members have been appointed to two selected subcommittees — one investigating the origins of COVID and another investigating the federal government’s weaponization — and Democrats are outraged at the addition of certain MAGA legislators.
“The government has a responsibility to serve the American people, not go after them,” McCarthy said in a statement.
“The members selected to serve on these subcommittees will work to stop the federal government’s arming and will also finally get answers to the origins of Covid and the federal government’s research that contributed to the pandemic” he added.
McCarthy notes that the subcommittee on armaments is necessary because congressional Democrats and the Biden administration engaged in a “dangerous pattern of using the administration to attack political opponents while neglecting their most basic responsibilities.”
Republicans have created two select subcommittees to stop arming the federal government and finally get answers to the origins of COVID and the investigation into federal government profits that contributed to the pandemic.

MAGA members named to House Select Subcommittees
A few names that popped up on selected House subcommittees angered Democrats, especially those from the MAGA movement.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) continued to reap the benefits of a relationship with McCarthy that would make Frank Luntz blush, and was appointed to the COVID-19 subcommittee.
Greene celebrated the nomination and stated her intent to explore the role of gain-of-function research, the Democratic “authoritarian” lockdowns, the ineffective vaccines forced upon the American people, and the role of Dr. Anthony Fauci.
I am honored to serve on the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
It’s time to reveal the truth about the origins of COVID, the Democrats’ authoritarian response, vaccines, and Fauci’s NIAID involvement in gain-of-function research.https://t.co/76hEq3Fh4z

Greene will also serve on the House Homeland Security and Oversight Committees.
Also named on the COVID subcommittee is former White House physician Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who has consistently challenged President Biden to undergo a mental fitness evaluation.
Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with Biden – and it’s only getting WORSE! It’s beyond shame. He’s lost. He’s confused. He can barely put together a coherent sentence. He MUST have a cognitive exam and release the results! pic.twitter.com/Pk5Pq2V5Um

Jim Jordan (R-OH) will chair the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government after being rejected by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to serve on the Jan. 6 panel.

Liberals are not happy
Liberals on social media responded with outrage at MAGA Republicans representing their voters on the selected subcommittees.
Because see, it would be better to have completely partisan mock committees like the January 6 debacle.
Democratic Congressman Don Beyer dismissed both panels as “devoted to conspiracy theories.”
McCarthy posted the QAnon enthusiast spreading pandemic misinformation on the Covid subcommittee and the man who evaded a congressional subpoena and discussed pardons with Donald Trump in charge of their “deep state” panel. Entire subcommittees devoted to conspiracy theories. Ugh. https://t.co/3enAxQ7mfu

This is fine with us, since ‘conspiracy theories’ nowadays usually just mean ‘the media hasn’t admitted it yet’.
House Judiciary Democrats slammed McCarthy for “sold ones from our democracy to strengthen MAGA extremists.”
Kevin McCarthy sold our democracy to empower MAGA extremists.

Richard Stengel, a former Obama administration official, also followed the contemptuous “conspiracy theory” path.
The Weaponization Subcommittee, Stengel claims, is “a body that creates conspiracy theories rather than investigates them and will ultimately undermine itself.”
The ‘Weaponization’ or Government Committee (a really laughable name) is about to become the modern House of UnAmerican Activities committee – a body that creates conspiracy theories rather than investigates and will ultimately undermine itself. https://t.co/VnFuH5zIsD

We literally just watched the January 6 sham create highly directed and produced filmography instead of evidence, falsify factual evidence, create conspiracy theories, and admit they wanted to tell people what to believe.
If Democrats are angry at MAGA Republicans serving on committees to counter lies about Democrats and media, then McCarthy is certainly doing the right thing.
Now is the time to support and share the resources you trust.
