Liverpool FC “position” themselves as strong candidates to sign one of the world’s biggest stars in 2022 – but only if they can overcome a tough hurdle in the form of a controversial agent.
Erling Haaland, 21, is already one of the most valuable assets in world football. Since moving to Dortmund in 2020, the lanky hitman has operated exactly one goal per game. He started the current season with flying colors, scoring seven goals and three assists in his first five outings.
As such, it’s no surprise that Haaland is being courted by some of the heavyweights in European football.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all been presented as potential contenders. However, doubts remain as to whether they would have the financial clout to secure the lucrative deal.
As such, both Manchester United and Manchester City are expected to be serious contenders for the Norwegian’s signing.
Indeed, with a release clause of 75 million euros coming into force in 2022, Haaland appears to be a real transfer boon.
However, his agent Mino Raiola is also due to a nice cut from any future transfers involving his client. To that end, the deal is expected to cost nearly € 100million, with the striker also claiming salaries above £ 300,000 per week.
We may have even forgotten that Raiola already started a tour of European football’s superpowers earlier this year to have preliminary talks on his client.
One of the Raiola clubs spoke with what indeed Liverpool. And by analyzing the prospects for a Barcelona agreement next year, Mundo Deportivo, Going through Sports witness, examined Haaland’s options.
They say Liverpool FC are very good candidates to sign the forward, although Raiola’s involvement in the deal complicates matters.
Nevertheless, the Reds are said to be “in the footsteps” of the player and “would position themselves strongly” to sign him.
Liverpool owners FSG are also reportedly preparing to back Jurgen Klopp with funds next summer. In addition, an attack of Haaland flanked by Mohamed Salah and that of Diogo Jota or Sadio Mane would certainly make the mouth water.
And Haaland has already underlined his admiration for a big star currently on the Liverpool books.

With high demand and an exit clause in place, the Dortmund boss knows keeping the Norwegian looking tough already.
Watzke Recount Welt am Sonntag: “Of course it will be difficult. I’m not saying, however, that it’s completely out of the question. We will do everything we can to keep our best players loyal to us in the future.
However, Watzke insists he’s confident he’ll find another shooter to replicate Haaland’s efforts.
“We have to have confidence in ourselves to say that we will find a new top striker,” he added.
