Man shot in leg on 19th Street Friday afternoon


August 6 – Niagara Falls Police Department investigates a Friday afternoon shooting incident on the 1100 block of 19th Street in which a man was injured.

Around noon, police came to the 19th and Ashland area for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they were told a shooting victim was on his way to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment for a leg wound.

Additional officers were sent to the hospital where they met the victim.

At the scene on 19th Street, detectives found a casing in the roadway. The suspect was reported to be driving a black-colored Lincoln 4-door sedan.

A bystander reported that the gunman was the driver of the vehicle and was wearing a mask at the time.
