Domestic stock markets opened on a muted note, following the rally seen in the previous session, based on trends from the global front. Asian markets are mixed in Friday morning trading and Wall Street finished slightly higher overnight. At 9:18 a.m., the BSE Sensex was trading at 52,534.15, up 235.15 points or 0.45% and the NSE Nifty was at 15,809.95, up 65.25 points or 0. 43%.
Asian markets were mixed in Friday morning trading. The Hang Seng Index gained 0.53 percent at the start of trading and the Taiwan Index added 0.63 percent, while the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.47 percent.
Wall Street finished slightly higher on Thursday, with the S&P 500 closing above its previous record set on May 7, with economic data appearing to support the Federal Reserve’s claim that the current wave of increased inflation will be temporary. The Dow Jones rose by 0.06%, the S&P 500 by 0.47% and the Nasdaq Composite by 0.78%.
On the results side, BEML, BHEL, CG Power and Cochin Shipyard will declare their workforce during the day.
On Thursday, the BSE Sensex closed 359 points or 0.69% higher and the NSE Nifty settled in with gains of 102 points or 0.65% to 15,737.75.
