The MBUX Hyperscreen is a massive 56-inch-wide curved glass panel that houses three individual OLED displays.

  7. In terms of design, up front a glossy black panel takes the place where we’re traditionally used to seeing a grille. There are three tiny LED accents on each headlight to invoke the other appeal of Mercedes’ S family while a full-width LED strip on the edge of the hood connects the headlights. The taillights have a helical design which Mercedes says is inspired by the visible coils of an antique bulb. And of course, the tapered roofline has more of a coupe appeal and seems inspired by the four-door Mercedes-AMG 63 S.

It also gets ventilated and massage seats for all four passengers.

  8. Inside, it features the new MBUX Hyperscreen, which is essentially a solid glass instrument panel incorporating three individual information displays – an instrument panel, a central infotainment system, and an auxiliary passenger-side touchscreen.
  9. The MBUX Hyperscreen is a massive 56-inch-wide curved glass panel that houses three individual OLED displays. Right in front of the driver is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while a 17.7-inch center touchscreen is for the infotainment system. The passenger also has their own 12.3-inch touchscreen, shielded from the driver and kept away by a camera system that monitors distraction and turns the unit off if they feel the driver is watching too much.
  10. The co-pilot can use this secondary touchscreen to activate massage, heating and ventilation for the driver and front passenger, as well as to adjust air conditioning, ambient lighting and audio settings. The passenger can also listen to their own music through Bluetooth headphones while finding and suggesting navigation to the driver.

At the rear, it receives standard bench seats.

  11. It also sports a new feature called “zero layer” in the MBUX infotainment system software. In this mode, a full screen map appears on the center display, augmented by a fixed audio control in the lower center and settings in the upper left corner. With the help of artificial intelligence, the EQS learns more about the driver’s preferences and schedule, suggesting MBUX functions on small tiles superimposed on the map display.
  12. The Hyperscreen pods and door handle “float” above the dashboard and door panel surfaces, with ambient accent lighting appearing around the rim. Pink metal trims have been used on the vents, screen surround, and door panels, a trendy touch that looks decidedly upscale.

The wood inlay only appears on the center console.

  13. In the rear, a bench seat is the only configuration available and no fixed center console here. The bench seat armrest sports an MBUX tablet, functioning as a remote control for the standard 12.3-inch twin screens mounted on the front seat backrests. There is also a quick heating and massage for the rear seats.
  14. It is also equipped with an optional AR Head-Up Display, where navigation prompts are projected onto the windshield in the driver’s field of vision. It also offers a full suite of active driver assistance technologies standard on the EQS, including distronic adaptive cruise control, steering assist with automated lane change and automatic emergency braking for drivers. front, rear and cross collisions.
  15. If you detect a collision, Pre-Safe Impulse Side technology raises the EQS about 2.8 inches, ensuring that more force is distributed throughout the car’s chassis rather than the passenger cabin.
  16. Then it also has a Power Nap function which can be used while charging. The Power Nap function reclines the front seats, closes the window and panoramic sunroof blinds and makes soothing sounds. After a predetermined amount of time, Power Nap automatically wakes passengers up gently by activating ambient lighting and returning the seats to the upright position.
  17. It is also equipped with an optional HEPA filter and an air quality sensor for outside and cabin air.
