Narendra Giri, the head of a prominent religious organization, Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh, police said today. Narendra Giri, who headed one of the country’s largest religious organizations of saints, was found dead at his home in Prayagraj, police said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Party Leader Samajwadi Akhilesh Yadav tweeted their condolences.
Police said a suicide note was found.
