Paris Hilton got poetic about her longtime friend Britney Spears for Time Magazine’s popstar profile as part of their annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people, which was released on Wednesday.
Hilton praised Britney’s gentle soul in the face of adversity from the “ruthless and cruel” media apparatus to her “pain” suffered under the long-standing tutelage that Spears fought to end this year.
Britney is among 100 stars, politicians, athletes, doctors, scientists and inventors on this year’s list which sees Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the cover.

Paris and Britney used to run in the same Hollywood circle in the early years and were frequent club buddies in various LA hot spots.
The heiress wrote a short article about her friend, noting that she has the rare opportunity to get to know singer Toxic as her scintillating character on stage.
“When I think of Britney Spears, I see the sweetest soul. A mother. A friend. A fighter,” Paris wrote. “A young woman who grew up in the tabloid culture of the 2000s, when the machine paparazzi was accepted, ruthless and cruel. “
Hilton herself was probably speaking from experience as she too has been at the forefront over the years, with her celebrity feuds, a handful of arrests, and multiple engagements (and breakups) making headlines.

The heiress went on to describe how Britney “survived over a decade of trauma and abuse from her guardianship.”
Over the past year, Britney and her lawyers have fought not only to have her father Jamie removed as a Tory, but to end all wardship.
At one point, the circus singer herself made a public plea in court describing the “abuse” she claims to have suffered without being able to control her own life.
“In 2021, #FreeBritney battle cries roared louder than ever from its global network of dedicated fans and concerned audiences,” Paris said. “Our hearts broke when Britney spoke of her pain.” Adding that “we support her and support her as she turns pain into a goal.”

After months of brutal back-and-forth in court, earlier this month Jamie Spears, 69, filed a petition in court to end her daughter’s guardianship. Sources, however, told TMZ that Jamie doesn’t believe the tutelage will actually end.
Although Jamie’s case calls for the guardianship to be resolved without a mental assessment, a source said he believes Judge Brenda Penny will still require the assessment.
They claimed he had said privately that he expected the assessment to be unfavorable to Britney and could lead to the continuation of the guardianship.
Meanwhile, the hitmaker revealed on social media this week that she is engaged to longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari. Pal Paris Hilton, who is also newly engaged, was quick to congratulate Britney on social media.

After Britney and Sam shared their engagement news, her manager Brandon Cohen confirmed it via a statement.
“The couple today formalized their long-standing relationship and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love shown to them,” he said, adding that Spears’ new ring was designed by New York jeweler Roman Malayev.
The bespoke design features a round brilliant four-karat stone in a platinum cathedral frame, and is accented with a floating solitaire design and cobblestone details on the bridge.
Britney is one of several stars to make the Time 100 list this year. The cover – which was dragged out for being severely touched up – featured the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said they were “humble” to be the cover stars in an article written by World Central Kitchen founder Chef Jose Andres.
The gushing tribute congratulates them for “giving a voice to the voiceless” and “running to struggle” rather than living a quiet life in their California mansion.
