Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with a shooting that killed a man on Thanksgiving.
According to a press release, gunshots were reported to have been heard in the 1500 block of Aberdeen Road at about 8:40 pm on Thursday. Police found a silver four-door sedan at the intersection of Aberdeen Road and W. Mercury Boulevard and found a man in the vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the spot.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Aberdeen Road when it was hit by gunfire. Police believe this caused the driver to veer off the road and hit a fire hydrant before coming to a stop at the intersection.
From Friday morning 8.30 am, the motive and circumstances of the shooting are being investigated. The identity of the victim has not been released because the police have not informed the next of kin.
