Following Pakistan’s 2-1 ODI Series victory over a South Africa, former all-rounder Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to criticize Cricket South Africa (CSA) for releasing several players for the 2021 IPL in middle of the three-game ODI series against Pakistan. . South Africa, playing without several star players – including Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada, showed great courage and determination, but ultimately suffered a 28-point loss in the third and final ODI. Questioning the CSA’s decision, Afridi said he was “sad to see the T20 leagues influencing international cricket”.

Afridi also congratulated Pakistan on their “great series victory”. He was particularly impressed with opener Fakhar Zaman who scored consecutive centuries in the last two ODIs and played a key role in Pakistan’s victory. Afridi also praised Pakistani skipper Babar Azam’s bat, who missed his century by just six points in the third ODI, heading for Andile Phehlukwayo on the last ball of their innings.
