Sarah Jessica Parker “Not Ready” to Address Death of Sex And The City Co-star Willie Garson

Sarah Jessica Parker is “not ready” to speak about the sudden death of Willie Garson, her co-star of Sex And The City, at the age of 57 years.

The 56-year-old actress made the comment under an Instagram tribute from teammate Chris Noth, which included a snapshot of her and Garson filming the first Sex And The City movie in 2007.

“Thank you my dear Chris. I’m not ready yet. Xxx, ”wrote Parker, who also mourns the very recent loss of his longtime business partner, George D. Malkemus lll.

Willie’s death was confirmed on Tuesday by his son Nathen, 20, while TMZ reported that the actor was battling cancer before his untimely death.

Garson played the role of Stanford ‘Stanny’ Blatch, who was Sarah’s Carrie Bradshaw’s best friend on the series which ran from 1998 to 2004. He starred in 27 of the series’ 98 episodes.

He also appeared in the first feature film Sex And The City in 2008, as well as its sequel, titled Sex And The City 2, in 2010.

Just two months before his death, Willie was spotted filming a scene with Sarah on the set of the upcoming SATC reboot, titled And Just Like That …, in New York City.

The reboot, which is set to air on HBO Max later this year, is meant to catch up with fans on the lives of the characters on the show and how they have evolved since the events of Sex And The City 2.

On July 24, Willie and Sarah were also joined on set by costar Mario Cantone, who plays event organizer Anthony Marentino in the beloved HBO series and in the revival that followed.

During filming, Garson could be seen kissing Parker’s face as they performed their lines outside the Lyceum Theater.

He was last pictured filming the reboot on August 3.

Speaking to Us Weekly in June, Willie expressed his enthusiasm for “putting himself in my shoes” figuratively and literally. [of Stanford Blatch] again ”after so many years.

‘It was great. I was just telling my friends… that I was probably wearing about $ 200,000 worth of clothes yesterday, ”speaking of her first day on set. “And it was right away. It’s like, ‘Oh, that’s us, here we are.’ ‘

Since the news of his death, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and former SATC player Kim Cattrall have posted statements on social media in honor of Garson, many of which included their favorite snaps of and with the late star. .

Cynthia called Willie a “source of light”, while Cattrall felt his death “was a terribly sad loss to the SATC family”.

Davis commented on Garson’s dedication to fatherhood after adopting his now 20-year-old son Nathen in 2009, writing: “I really want to pay tribute to his fearless commitment to single fatherhood.

“We talked a lot about being single parents by adoption. And nothing has given him more joy and pride than his son Nathen.

Sarah was the only one of the four ladies on the show to have yet to comment publicly, leaving many fans worried about the actress and how she was dealing with the loss of another dear friend.

Parker learned last Thursday that his co-founder of the SJP footwear line, George D. Malkemus III, had passed away at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer.

Giving herself time to process, the actress / designer posted an article in honor of her longtime friend, noting that she could not “summon the words for a proper tribute” and that he “deserves the prose that I don’t have yet “.

She continued, “I have to collect my thoughts. Today I can only say that I am heartbroken. RIP dear partner, elegant gentleman George.

Until we meet again, I’ll spend the rest of my life asking “what would GM3 do?” I will miss you so much. Forever, ”the star concluded.

Sarah co-founded her seven-year accessories brand SJP Collection with the former CEO of Manolo Blahnik, who is survived by her husband Tony Yurgaitis.
