October: Hunter’s Moon

Mars: Worm moon
As the temperatures warm up, earthworm casts start to appear and the birds start to find food. It also goes by several other names, including Sap Moon, Crow Moon, and Crust Moon, while its Anglo-Saxon name is Lenten Moon.
The worm moon graces our skies on the same month as the spring equinox, which fell on March 20 of this year.
This full moon is important because it serves to fix the date of Easter, which is always the Sunday following the first full moon following the spring equinox. This year’s worm moon was the first full moon to appear after the spring equinox, meaning Easter Sunday fell a week later, Sunday April 4.

April: Pink Moon
April’s full moon is known as the Pink Moon, but don’t be fooled into thinking that it will turn pink. It is actually named after the pink wildflowers, which appear in North America in early spring.
She is also known as Egg Moon, due to the spring egg-laying season. Some coastal tribes called it Fish Moon because it appeared at the same time as the shad swimming upstream.
The Pink Moon appears in the same month as a meteor shower and in 2021 it was also the first super full moon of the year.
