Simon Cowell will remain on Britain’s Got Talent until 2025 as the show’s deal is extended, according to a new report.

The music mogul, 62, will be a TV show judge for four more series after ITV extended the talent show’s current contract by 12 months, claims The Mirror.

It comes after it was revealed on Friday that Simon was abandoning ‘almost all of his staff’ at Syco and slashing the multi-million pound entertainment empire dramatically after nearly 20 years.

A source told the publication about BGT: “He shows no signs of slowing down and is working on a lot of US projects as well.”

A representative for Simon and ITV has been contacted by TUSEN for comment.

The show was canceled last year due to the pandemic, but auditions for BGT’s new series begin this weekend at the Palladium in London.

The newspaper reports that Simon flew to London yesterday before filming began.

This comes just a day after it was revealed that Simon was downsizing Syco.

The star, who has repeatedly discussed his resistance to marriage, sent shockwaves earlier this week when it was revealed he popped the question to his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 44, and that he would now focus on his family.

Insiders revealed that Simon had started to downsize the company: “Simon has come to a point in his life where he doesn’t want the stress of running a global empire and so has made the tough decision to shut down Syco.”

A production source told TUSEN: ‘Everyone who has worked with him is incredibly grateful for these opportunities and experiences and they understand the direction he wants to take. Those who leave will be quickly picked up.”

Syco Entertainment is a multimedia entertainment company, based in London and Los Angeles, and founded and owned by Simon. Previously focused on music, the company is currently focusing on television production.

The company owns The X Factor and Got Talent franchises, while the music arm oversees a slew of talent based on the respective shows.

Before he started filming the new series of Britain’s Got Talent this Sunday, the insider explained that he wanted to focus on what he loves.

The source continued, “Simon’s decision will give him more time to focus on what he loves. Along with spending time with his family…

“He loves BGT and his American counterpart America’s Got Talent and he would love to continue appearing on those and being on camera for years to come.”
