August 6 – A week after a shooting in Sherwood Park, Odessa police announced the arrest of two 16-year-olds on suspicion of theft and deadly conduct. One of the teens is also to be charged with shooting three days earlier.
On July 29, OPD announced that three children took shelter in the pool at Sherwood Park after someone shot them three times and fled.
According to Friday’s announcement, two juvenile suspects are now being held at the Ector County Youth Center.
One of the two youths is also charged with unloading a firearm in certain municipalities in connection with a July 26 shooting incident in 3100 Block of Maple.
During the investigation, officers found three firearms, two of which had been reported stolen.
No further details have been released about the apparent Sherwood Park robbery or the Maple incident.
The newspaper filed a Texas Public Information Act petition with the department on Wednesday.
