The Frasier sequel has cast newcomer Anders Keith as Niles and Daphne’s college son as he joins Kelsey Grammer for the Paramount+ series

For those who have been wondering what the son of Daphne (played by Janes Leeves) and Niles (played by David Hyde Pierce) from the hit TV show Frasier would look like, the wait is over.

On Wednesday, TUSEN shared that an actor has been cast as the lovebirds’ progeny for a sequel to the beloved show that aired from 1993 to 2004.

The lucky one is Anders Keith who will play the clumsy student David Crane.

This will be Keith’s first fencing job as he is fresh out of Julliard after graduating in May 2022.

It was also shared on Wednesday that Jess Salgueiro had been cast as Eve who is friends with Frasier’s son. Already cast are Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Cutmore-Scott as Freddy van Frasier and Lilith’s son.

Kelsey stars in the sequel, but none of the other original cast members.

That means Leeves and Pierce won’t be on board and neither will Peri Gilpin, who played Roz Doyle. John Mahoney, who played Frasier and Niles’ father, passed away in 2018 at the age of 77.

David is a college freshman who is clumsy but enthusiastic with his mother’s pleasant smile, the site shared.

Daphne gave birth to David during the 2004 Frasier finale. He was named after series co-creator David Angell, who died in the September 11 attacks.

The sequel to Frasier is set in a new town. “In a really funny way, it just took us to a new place, which is what we originally wanted to do anyway, which was Frasier’s third act,” Grammer told People in a November interview. “It’s a whole new life for him.”
