Marking his return from injury, Ben Stokes took to social media to give fans a preview of his first training session. The England all-rounder had two screws and scar tissue removed from his left index finger after snapping it while playing in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) season in April. The ODI World Cup winner posted a few videos, where he can be seen showcasing his variety of shots. When posting the video, he also captioned it, “It’s a casual wear workout on a Thursday … Usually my first ball comes back and that’s what happened. Then I make sure I don’t break my toe. Great to be back hitting balls. “

England point guard Jofra Archer greeted his teammate and joked about Stokes’ first delivery. He commented on Stokes’ post, “The first bullet could be 4 anyway (no matter how they come from)”.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper-beater Jos Buttler said: “Like riding a bike.”
Stokes also took an indefinite hiatus from cricket in July to focus on his sanity. Although he was not in action, the cricketer retained his contract with England.
Due to his absence he was not included in England’s Ashes squad and was also left out of the T20 World Cup roster. The flagship event is scheduled to be played in Oman and the United Arab Emirates from October 17.
