Shikhar Dhawan-led Team India is set to take on New Zealand in a three-match ODI series, which begins in Auckland on November 25. It is worth noting that the southpaw will lead the host side as regular skipper Rohit Sharma has been rested for the series. BCCI shared a video on social media of the unveiling of the ODI trophy for the series on Thursday. While going to the ceremony, Dhawan was seen having a good time with his New Zealand counterpart.
In the shared clip, the Dhawan-Williamson duo embrace before laughing and marching to the trophy unveiling.

Speaking about the role of captain, Dhawan said, “I am really lucky to be the captain of the Indian team. It is very nice to get this challenging opportunity. We also won a good series. I was not hurt when the captain was taken away from me. I don’t feel bad if something doesn’t go the way we wanted.”
India will play the 50-over format against the Blackcaps after taking a 1-0 victory in the rain-ravaged three-game T20I series against the side. The first match of the series was abandoned due to rain in Wellington before India won the second match by 65 runs at Mount Maunganui. The third match between the sides at Napier saw a draw result after the DLS method came into effect after rain intervention, as India were 75/4 after 9 overs in pursuit of 161.
