Well-armed Chinese ship enters Japanese waters near Senkakus

A China Coast Guard ship equipped with the largest gun ever seen on such a vessel entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea on Friday, the Japan Coast Guard said.

Four China Coast Guard ships, including the ship, were discovered in waters off the Tokyo-controlled uninhabited islets also claimed by Beijing, the Japan Coast Guard said. The latest incident came just days after Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their first summit since 2019.
