What time will Roger Federer play alongside Rafael Nadal today?

Roger Federer bids farewell to his tennis career alongside great rival Rafael Nadal as the 41-year-old plays his final game tonight against Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe in the Laver Cup.

Federer said it would be a dream to play his final doubles match with Nadal and Europe captain Bjorn Bjorg has granted the 20-time grand slam champion his wish and set up a dazzling opportunity at the O2 Arena.

“It’s going to be something special,” Nadal said. “It is going to be difficult to tackle everything. The most important player in my tennis career is leaving. Of course I’m super excited and grateful to be playing with him.”

Federer said of his rivalry with Nadal: “Also for us to go through a career that we’ve both had and to come out the other side and have a nice relationship, I think maybe it’s a great message to not just tennis but sports and maybe even more.”

How does the Laver Cup work?

Singles and doubles are played every day, with Friday’s games worth one point, Saturday’s two and Sunday’s three.

Each player plays in at least one singles match during the first two days, but no player can play more than two singles matches during the three days.

At least four players from each team must play doubles, but a doubles combination may not be used more than once.

The best of three sets is played, but the third set is a ten point tiebreak if the first two sets are split.

The winning team will be the first to have 13 points. With 24 points available, a decider is played in the event of a 12-12 tie.
