In today’s Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Andrew Zarian reported that WWE rated Bray Wyatt as “picky” and had “weight issues.”
“I have more information on his release. I want to be careful about this, ”Zarian said. “I’m not even going to hint at where it came from or who told me that. I would say he’s probably one of the more legitimate people I’ve spoken to who would be able to fix this… ”
Zarian continued, “Bray was tough. I will fill in a lot, I won’t even quote here because I have the quote [and] I don’t want to quote it. It was a little difficult. He’s had performance issues in the ring and he’s had weight issues and I’m not saying that’s a reason, but you put things together when you assess a talent and you’re like we need it, we need that and this is the plan that goes forward… sometimes the decision is easier to make if you make it difficult for them. There are so many different variables. There is not a single reason, moreover. Just let me put it there. Financial yes, there was a financial problem. There were plenty of other scenarios here. I do not think he was happy and I would tell you that these decisions are not settled. “
It should be noted that Wyatt’s friends say he is healthy and cleared to wrestle. WWE’s public explanation for Wyatt’s release was that it was due to budget cuts.
While there has been a lot of speculation that Wyatt could land at AEW, Tony Khan said this week that he hasn’t spoken to him. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez previously reported that Wyatt’s likely landing point is Impact Wrestling.
